The classes are well structured and the teachers are patient and encouraging, which makes learning Danish feel less intimidating. Fantastisk oplevelse: I’ve been going to Kartoffeldansk for around 1.5 years and absolutely love it. Small class sizes mean plenty of speaking time, the teachers are engaging, and the atmosphere is genuinely fun. Everyone is there to learn, so you progress quickly together with a really supportive group. It’s a highlight of my week and I can highly recommend it.

The small group configuration allows students to participate and talk many times during the class, which is needed for learning a language. The e-exercises as part of the book are managed in an easy-to-use platform, which many activities for habilitating the learning at home. Kartoffeldansk is very good compared to other traditional language instituts! This is a good choice for you!!!

Fantastisk oplevelse: As a parent working full time, I'm very happy with the flexibility provided by Kartoffeldansk. I am currently doing private lessons with Charlotte, which can be both in person or online. I'm happy the lessons can be focused on my priorities: speaking, grammar and vocabulary. My teacher is patient and takes the time to properly explain. She makes sure to correct the mistakes that I make. I even bought 20 extra private lessons and I'm looking forward to my classes!

Fantastisk oplevelse: I took private Danish classes from Kartoffeldansk and it was such a good journey! I studied with four different teachers along the way (heartfelt thanks to Charlotte, Ida, Stine, and Andreas), 2 hours a week, and in about 10 months I got top scores from PD2. Passing PD2 was my initial goal but my lovely teachers at Kartoffeldansk made me want to actually learn the language beyond the test. I also attended a summer school along the way and I can say that the classroom environment was also very good. I strongly recommend Kartoffeldansk to anyone considering Danish education.

Fantastisk oplevelse: I’ve been studying with Kartoffeldansk for about a year and a half and I could not recommend it enough. I enjoy the class structure, it’s both relaxed enough and small enough so you actually manage to speak and be heard, there is enough support from the teachers and they are flexible to support my individual goals. Both group lessons with Henriette and private lessons with Ida were great in structure and tailored to my and other students' needs. Fantastisk oplevelse: Ik heb vier weken intensief les gevolgd bij Kartoffeldansk omdat ik mijn Deens graag wilde verbeteren. Niet omdat ik emigreer naar Denemarken, maar puur voor mijn plezier. Ik hoorde dus niet tot de standaard doelgroep, maar gelukkig was dit mogelijk. Katrine heeft hierin actief meegedacht en mij in precies de juiste groepen ingedeeld: B2/C1 en de fluency groep. Daarnaast had ik twee uur privéles. Mijn docenten Katrine, Henriette en Ida waren ontzettend vriendelijk, behulpzaam en deskundig en ze wisten van elke les weer een mooie leerervaring te maken in een ontspannen setting. Goed om te weten: je kunt ook via teams les krijgen als je niet op locatie kunt zijn. Voor mij was het een fantastische ervaring, ik heb in korte tijd veel progressie geboekt!

Ihre Art, den Stoff zu vermitteln, ist äußerst klar und strukturiert, und sie schafft es, eine angenehme Lernatmosphäre zu kreieren. Stine ist geduldig, geht individuell auf die Bedürfnisse der Teilnehmer ein und sorgt dafür, dass sich jeder aktiv am Unterricht beteiligen kann. Dank ihrer Motivation und ihrer gut durchdachten Methoden habe ich große Fortschritte gemacht. Ich kann die Sprachschule und vor allem den Unterricht bei Stine wärmstens empfehlen!

Fantastisk oplevelse: I came to Kartoffeldansk to supplement my PD3 courses and help me overcome anxiety about speaking Danish. I appreciated that Stine started by asking me about my goals and adapted our time together accordingly. She created a relaxed and fun atmosphere, and I now feel much more confident in speaking "everyday" Danish.

Fantastisk oplevelse: I have been learning Danish with Katrine in private sessions. I had previously attended the Danish classes provided by the public system in a group setting, but found it difficult to progress and therefore I wanted to take one-on-one lessons to ensure I could learn based on my individual needs. My Danish has improved a lot. Katrine really tailored the lessons to my needs and focused on topics that let me improve my Danish skills for a day to day life in Denmark.

Fantastisk oplevelse: Highly recommend specially if you are shy or introvert (like me). After 5 years feeling embarrassed of my half intermediate danish, I found Kartoffeldansk and immediatlly felt seem and heard! Their small groups finally gave me the chance to speak and learn with calm and focus. It was a game changer for me. Katrine is super attentive teacher and her focus on my native accent helped boost my speaking confidence. Andreas is very didactic about sounds and grammar. The classes have such good energy - it's hard to not get chatty and involved into the lessons. Price, location, communication, flexibility, teachers and methodology - best choice I ever made. :)

Katrine has created a very cozy and fun atmosphere for my class and I look forward to going to class every week. Jeg har booket 20 timer med Matilde, og allerede er mere end halvdelen af dem forbi, og jeg føler, at jeg er blevet mere selvsikker i at tale dansk. Jeg ved, at vejen til at nå det niveau, jeg ønsker, er lang, men det ser ud til, at med hjælp fra Kartoffeldansk er jeg et skridt nærmere. Fantastisk oplevelse: After too many unsuccessful attempts to learn some danish I started with Kartoffeldansk and finally progressing. Both Stine and Katrine are amazing teachers. The concept is fantastic- with a lot of focus on communication and just positive learning. Joining online is always an option and surprisingly almost as good as in person. I am taking only 1x2hr lesson per week + homework. The only model that works with my work but can still feel I am learning. Fully recommend.

I have been with them for a year and have really enjoyed my private classes. A big thanks in particular to Andreas, who is such a dedicated and passionate teacher. He has adapted to content to my needs (more around daily conversations) and has always found a way to make me laugh and keep me motivated.

Fantastisk oplevelse: I did the intensive summer school programme over the summer and I absolutely loved it! :) The teachers at Kartoffeldansk make you feel at home and the format of the classes just fit me very well. I enjoyed the changing of teachers during the summer school as each of them offered a different perspective on the language. I can recommend the summer programme to anybody who starts to learn Danish or to anybody who wants to immerse themselves into all things Danish during a fun summer in Copenhagen :) I enjoyed the lessons so much that I ordered two more months to continue the Danish journey :) Tusind tak Stine, Katrine og Andreas :)

Fantastisk oplevelse: I have started my journey of learning Danish at Kartoffeldansk and I can only highly recommend it. I had had Danish lessons here in a private setting with a small group and started online that continued with a face-to-face setting in their lovely new office! It was really a very nice experience for me and I am thankful to Helle, our lovely teacher who has always been so nice and patient to our tons of questions (it is not easy to start learning a new -not so easy- language:)) and very well-prepared each time. I enjoyed each one of my classes with Helle, and learnt a lot in a short time period. I think that is also great to have hybrid option at Kartoffeldansk, you can prefer to join while being home; or visit the lovely office and enjoy the class with a cup of tasty coffee.. I cannot think of another greater option to learn Dansk :)

Fantastisk oplevelse: I can highly recommend Kartoffeldansk for danish classes aswell. I started my lessons (I have group lessons) in November 2022 and I already know a few basics which I can easily use in my day to day life. The atmosphere in the classes is very nice. Since It's only a small group of max. 6 people, you actually learn things and you also have to talk and participate at some point - which obvisouly helps you to learn and understand danish with every lessons a little bit more, and I think, even faster than you'd do at a regular school. Plus Andreas (my teacher) is a very nice teacher and he is always very helpful if we have any questions. Also besides all the learning the classes feel very huggelig as if you would meet up with friends, have a nice time and even learn something whilst. Which I think is a really good thing and helps you even more to learn and understand the language even better than you normally would.

Fantastisk oplevelse: I have been learning Danish with Katrine for the past two months. I had previously learned a language in a group setting, but found it challenging to keep up and therefore I wanted to take one-on-one lessons to ensure I could learn at my own pace. The lessons are very enjoyable and my Danish has improved hugely. One of my weaknesses in learning a new language was that I struggled to follow what people were saying, however this time it has not been a problem - I put this down to Katrine's teaching alongside the course resources that they use. The course exercises are hugely valuable and I enjoy completing the homework because it immediately reinforces and cements what I have learned from the weeks lesson. I can easily recommend Kartoffeldansk to anyone looking to improve their Danish language.

Fantastisk oplevelse: Best help learning Danish I’ve received in 6yrs. Adaptive to my learning style. I’ve been trying on and off to learn Danish for and embarrassing 6 years . I learn differently than most and the traditional school structure has never been for me. I was so thankful to have found Helle, one of the instructors at Kartoffeldansk, who was not afraid to look me in the eye and really understand my learning style. I really valued her approach to discover that I learn by doing and failing forward in a “safe environment “ if you will. She picked up that while on the outside I’m a “businessman “, I’m actually an out of the box creative. Helle would bring music from current Danish artists into the lessons, which both helped me understand the language, but allowed me to connect in a way that made me actually care to learn. I also started off taking group lessons with Stine. I can say that Stine really cares about her business in an intimate way. Meaning she is passionate about helping people grow in their understanding of the Danish language and it shows how she teaches and runs her company. I’ve tried all the big language schools and they simply felt manufactured and cold, Kartoffeldansk feels more like a family friend who genuinely cares about your learning journey.

She built a positive vibe in the class and made learning a lot of fun. I have taken language classes in different countries and Kartoffeldansk is definitely the best till date!

Fantastisk oplevelse: I can highly recommend taking danish lessons at Kartoffeldansk. I have had danish lessons before but had a break and wanted to get back into it. I especially wanted to improve my conversation skills and general level, so I signed up for a semi private class. The speed and level to learn danish here is so flexible and really tailored to my needs. Katrine is an amazing teacher, she comes very well prepared and while I always feel like I learn a lot, it never feels stressful or exhausting. It’s a lot of fun, since we talk about everyday topics but also have grammar exercises - a really good mix! In the private setting you can ask any question that comes to mind! I just booked another 10 hour package and highly recommend it :)

Fantastisk oplevelse: I would highly recommend Kartoffeldansk to anyone who wants to learn Danish. Stine is an excellent teacher who always makes the classes engaging, interesting. Since the classes are not crowded we always have the chance to practice during the lessons. Because of Covid I was thinking the online lessons would be not easy to follow but Stine also makes the online classes quite fun and in the end easy to follow, almost like in real.

Classes are small, which allows for in-depth learning. Good management of online teaching during corona restrictions. Absolutely recommended.

Fantastisk oplevelse: Stine is a great Danish teacher. I am taking private lessons from her and I would strongly recommend this. Together we made a learning plan: we chose what to focus on, which learning books would be best for that and in what time frame to plan that. After each lesson I get an overview with what we did today, my homework for the next time and the “endgoals” we are working with. This makes it really easy for me to combine Danish with my full time job. The location is perfect, right next Fredriksberg Metro station. The “class” room is calm with a lot of direct sunlight. The 1.5 hour private lessons fly by in no time. Stine prepares the lessons in a way that you learn the language while you talk about the things as you would do in your own language. I feel comfortable and I look forward to my lessons!
